Space Science Facilitator – Temporary Seasonal (co-op)

The Space Science Facilitator delivers live, presenter-led shows and automated films in Discovery Centre’s 65-seat Dome Theatre, and in communities across Nova Scotia via a portable outreach Planetarium. Additional objectives include engaging visitors and community members with hands-on space science activities, including facilitating educational content in an upcoming featured exhibition on astronauts and raising awareness of local space initiatives and Canada’s contribution to the Artemis program.

STEAM Camp Counsellor (Temporary Seasonal March 11 – 20, 2026)

The STEAM Camp Counsellor works in the Science Education department and reports to the Manager of Science Education and the STEAM Camp Leader. This position is an excellent opportunity for any individual that is continuing in science or education, or who is interested in a career in public service, or any career where working with youth is required.

Customer Service Representative (In-Person, Temporary March 12 - 22, 2026)

The Customer Service Representative is a high-energy individual who is ready to thrive in a dynamic team environment and deliver a positive first impression to visitors in person, by phone or via online communication.

STEAM Facilitator (Temporary Seasonal March 12 – 22, 2026)

The STEAM Facilitator provides an enthusiastic welcome to all visitors, encouraging their interaction with the centre’s exhibits in addition to delivering programs and demonstrations on a variety of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) topics.

Ocean Energy Facilitator (Student WIL/Co-op Term)

Applicants must be current students in a Co-op program and returning to post-secondary studies in Fall 2026. The applicant must meet any additional candidate eligibility criteria of the grant program(s) funding this role. Applicants may be required to complete a pre-screening survey to determine if they meet the eligibility criteria.

Customer Service Representative (Temporary Seasonal)

Applicants must be between the ages of 15-30 and be a Canadian citizen/permanent resident as per the eligibility criteria of the Canada Summer Jobs program. Applicants may be required to complete a pre-screening survey to determine if they meet the eligibility criteria. International applicants with work visas are ineligible under this funding program and will not be considered for this role. This role is fully in-person in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

Digital Discovery Camp Leader (Temporary Seasonal)

Applicants must be current students returning to post-secondary studies in Fall 2026 and must meet any additional candidate eligibility criteria of the grant program(s) funding this role. Applicants may be required to complete a pre-screening survey to determine if they meet the eligibility criteria.

Sprouting Science Camp Leader – Designated (Temporary Seasonal)

This role is designated for African Nova Scotians, members of the Black community, and candidates of African descent. Applicants must also be between the ages of 15-30 and be a Canadian citizen/permanent resident as per the eligibility criteria of the Young Canada Works program. Applicants may be required to complete a pre-screening survey to determine if they meet the eligibility criteria. International applicants with work visas are ineligible under this funding program and will not be considered for this role.
