Ocean Gallery Facilitator (Co-op Position)

The main objective of the job is to create exciting, stimulating, hands-on/minds-on science education experiences for visitors in the ocean gallery. The Ocean Gallery Facilitator will assist in maintaining the life support systems of aquaria. They tend to the flora and fauna and ensures that all species are fed and receive everything they need to live and thrive in their environment. The faciliator will engage the public in every possible faucet of their work, explaining the reason and importance of what they are doing, how conditions affect plant or animal life, and encourage the public to take an active role in protecting habitats.

Science Inclusion Facilitator (Co-op Position)

The main objective of the job is to enhance the camp experience for attendees with intellectually and developmental needs.  Work as part of the camp counsellor team to co-develop and deliver hands-on science activities for camp participants (ages 6 -12) of varied abilities.  Maintain respect and confidentiality while considering the needs of exceptional learners as necessary.   Establish a welcoming environment where all campers can grow their interest in sciences.

Partnerships Coordinator

The Partnerships Coordinator is primarily responsible for cultivating and securing a base of new donors within the $1,000 to $25,000 giving range. This progressive career opportunity will require: strong fundraising and/or personal sales skills to achieve fundraising targets; superior writing skills to efficiently prepare sponsorship packages and grant applications for corporate prospects and foundations; outstanding overall communication skills to strengthen and steward donor relationships including formal and informal reporting; donor and market research support for the Manager, Partnerships; and knowledge of Raiser’s Edge fundraising software.

Bilingual STEAM Facilitator

The Bilingual STEAM Facilitator will be a member of the visitor services team working in the fun and challenging setting of a hands-on science centre. The Bilingual STEAM Facilitator will use both official languages to orient and assist visitors, interpret exhibits, programs and deliver exciting science demonstrations. They will review and improve upon program scripts written in French, and will promote the use of French within the centre.

STEAM Facilitator- Part Time

Working with the staff and volunteers of the Science team the main objective of the position is to deliver an exceptional experience to every Discovery Centre visitor. The STEAM FACILITATOR – PART TIME (Science Facilitator – Part Time) does this by providing an enthusiastic welcome to all visitors, encouraging their interaction with the centre’s exhibits in addition to delivering programs and demonstrations on a variety of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) topics.
