Enter the Brick Building Competition at Discovery Centre in partnership with Holdfast Bricks.
Competition information
Applicants will express their interest to apply through email to with their name and age. Once their pieces are completed, they will send emails with photos from a few different angles to the same email address.
Select applicants will be invited to display their pieces at Discovery Centre for public viewing with an awards ceremony. We thank all applicants for their interest but we may not be able to invite everyone to display their art.
Every person invited to show a piece will be given a family pass.
Contestants must pick up their art by May 5th by 4:00 PM.
Important dates
- Applications open: April 6th
- Finished photos must be submitted: April 19th
- Display dates: May 2-3rd
- Award ceremony: May 3rd at 2:00 pm
Age categories
There will be one winner and one honourable mention from the following age categories:
- 7 and under
- 8 – 13
- 14 – 18
Rules to enter
- Final piece must fit within a 12” by 12” space
- No prebuilt kits
- Must not receive help by an adult
- Must be made uniquely for this competition
- Must be willing to bring art to Discovery Centre to be displayed for two days. A total of 30 pieces will be chosen to be displayed that weekend. If not able to bring your piece to be displayed, it will not be eligible to win.
- Must be willing to have their work photographed and have their first name recognized on social media
- Contestants can win if they can’t make it to the ceremony, but they must be able to display their pieces.
