Why does my voice sound different on a video recording than when I am talking normally?

Great question Emily! When you talk your voice resonates – or vibrates – through your throat, mouth, and head, which allows you to hear and feel the different frequencies of your voice. When you are just listening to a recording, your body does not vibrate the same way inside, which is why you sound different! The next time you hum a tune, try feeling the vibrations of your voice in your throat, mouth, and head.
